Understanding The NDIS and Access Solutions

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is the Australian Government’s latest plan to support people with disabilities and their communities. Rolled out in stages across the country, the NDIS allows individuals to get personalised support to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.

It’s replacing an outdated and unfair system to ensure every Australian has the chance to live a fulfilling life and properly manage their wellness.

People with disabilities who are eligible participants of the scheme are able to access learning support, physical aids, job seeking support and access to carers amongst a host of other resources. Representatives take the time to get to know each participant, working extensively with them to determine what’s most important in order to give them a brighter future.

One such resource includes wheelchair access solutions to give people with disabilities more freedom to move comfortably around their home and community and access buildings in accordance with the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA). Participants may be eligible to receive funding for ramps, rails and landings that provide them with a safe and secure access solution.

Adapta shares the NDIS’s mission of fostering equality and giving Australian people with disabilities control over their life, which is why we’re proud to work alongside individuals, businesses and organisations that want to improve access to their buildings with bespoke ramp, rail, step and landing kits.
